Inter Caste Marriage
The personal laws of each religion regulate the majority of marriages in our nation. However, the Special Marriage Act becomes mandatory in extraordinary situations if such marriages occur between individuals from different castes. Since ancient times, our civilization has struggled under the restrictions of the caste system. Based on caste, there has been severe discrimination. The same has been enforced by incredibly strict regulations. Even if we have made great progress toward liberal perspectives, conventional beliefs and viewpoints are still deeply ingrained in contemporary culture.
In today's culture, interactions between individuals from various castes take place in a variety of settings, including educational and professional ones. Therefore, when marital plans also include such intermingling, it shouldn't be a serious issue. A few prerequisites must be met in order for a marriage to be legally recognized under the Special Marriage Act. This legal clause is undoubtedly a significant step in the direction of a "broad-minded society." Muslim law undoubtedly has strict guidelines surrounding intercaste marriage, while Hindu law does not.
